Among those affected, 50 individuals sought medical care, 30 were hospitalized, and one potentially associated death is under investigation. All flavors of Diamond Shruumz-brand products have been recalled, the products were previously sold online and at various retail locations, including smoke/vape shops and retailers selling hemp-derived products.
States reporting cases include Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and one case from an unknown state.
Affected individuals reported severe symptoms, including seizures, central nervous system depression (such as loss of consciousness and confusion), agitation, abnormal heart rates, nausea, and vomiting.
Consumers are advised not to eat, sell, or serve Diamond Shruumz-brand products. Retailers should cease selling or distributing these items and contact the recalling company to initiate returns and refunds. This advisory is ongoing and will be updated as more information becomes available.1

These products are contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, posing a potential health risk to pets and humans. Pets infected with Listeria may show symptoms like diarrhea, anorexia, and fever, or may remain asymptomatic carriers, posing a risk to household members. If a pet exhibits signs of infection after consuming the recalled products, owners are advised to contact their veterinarian.
The recalled products were distributed directly to consumers across all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Only products from Lot 21244 are affected, and Viva Raw is notifying customers who received any Turkey or Beef & Turkey for Puppies products between May 16 and June 28, 2024. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. The affected product was produced at a regional facility and distributed exclusively to H-E-B and Joe V’s Smart Shop locations in Texas. All impacted products have been removed from store shelves. Consumers who purchased this item are advised to return it to the store for a full refund or dispose of it immediately.4
AB World Foods US, Inc Issues Voluntary Recall of Al’Fez Natural Tahini Due to Salmonella Risk
July 12, 2024, AB World Foods US, Inc, based in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, is voluntarily recalling Al’Fez Natural Tahini packaged in 5.6 oz glass jars due to potential Salmonella contamination. This organism can cause serious symptoms and infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the recalled product so far.
The recalled tahini was sold in stores starting May 26, 2023. The affected jars have the UPC 711464506778 and a “BEST BEFORE” date of July 11, 2024, or later. The specific lot numbers being recalled are “3031,” “3080,” “3270,” and “3297,” with “BEST BEFORE” dates of July 31, 2024, Sep 9, 2024, March 27, 2025, and April 4, 2025.
