Tamarind Cashew Sauce (Cheesecake Factory Copycat)

Ever crave that delicious dipping sauce that’s served with the Cheesecake Factory’s lettuce wraps or avocado egg rolls? You can enjoy that same sweet and tangy goodness right at home with this simple recipe! But be warned – this tamarind cashew dipping sauce is super addictive and you’re going to want to make it all the time. Guilty!

This homemade version of the Cheesecake Factory’s tamarind cashew dipping sauce is bursting with warm, tangy flavor. Nutty cashews and fresh cilantro blend with the sweet and sour notes of tamarind paste and honey. This sauce is so unique, it was tricky to get the flavor right, but I think I cracked the code! Try it for yourself, I know you’ll love it as much as we do!

Ingredient List

  • Apple Cider Vinegar and Tamarind Paste: These two ingredients add a delightful sour punch that cuts through the sweetness and balances out the richness of the cashews.
  • Honey: Adds a sticky sweetness that makes the sauce so good!
  • Olive Oil: Helps create a smooth texture.
  • Cilantro: So the sauce has a pop of herby flavor. If you’re not a big cilantro fan, don’t worry! The flavor isn’t overpowering in this recipe.
  • Cashews: Add nutty flavor and a creamy texture once blended with the other ingredients.
  • Garlic and Ginger: A dynamic duo that brings warmth and depth of flavor to the mix. I recommend using fresh instead of powdered, if possible.
  • Cumin, Black Pepper, and Turmeric: These aromatic spices take the flavor to the next level.

How to Make Tamarind Cashew Dipping Sauce

  1. Heat Ingredients: In a small bowl mix together the apple cider vinegar, tamarind paste, honey, and olive oil. Heat in the microwave until it has just come together smoothly, about 20 seconds.
  2. Add to Blender: Pour the vinegar, tamarind, and honey mixture into a food processor or blender along with the cilantro, cashews, garlic, ginger, cumin, pepper, turmeric, and olive oil.
  3. Blend: Pulse until everything has blended together into a smooth, even consistency.
  4. Enjoy: Pour the sauce into a bowl and enjoy!

Adjust the Flavor

If you want the sauce to be more tart, add more tamarind paste. To sweeten it add more honey. Always taste as you go and add less to start with!
